T MOBILE ANDROID DIGITAL OUTDOOR CAMPAIGN

London, T-Mobile has launched a digital outdoor initiative as part of its inaugural campaign promoting the T-Mobile G1, the worlds first Android-powered phone. The campaign breaks today across London Underground screens, digital 6-sheets and on LCD screens at the brand new Westfield Shopping Centre. Grand Visual created three separate executions for the T-Mobile G1 based on Saatchi & Saatchis creative concept which uses Google Mobile map icons denoting places of interest to visually announce “it’s here.” The first execution features a local chip shop with a giant pin head marking the spot. The image zooms out to reveal a product shot with a Google map highlighting the location on screen. A speech bubble appears with the announcement and call to action Its here The new T-Mobile G1 with Google. Get yours now at our local T-Mobile store. The second execution also brings to life the phones arrival with the Google pin head marking Londons popular Borough Market before zooming out to show the markets map location and call to action. The final execution features a group of men playing golf when a giant envelope appears on the golf course demonstrating the phones ability to send and receive mail direct using the Gmail application. The digital outdoor activity complements a broader outdoor campaign, in addition to national press and online, all planned and bought by mediacom.

The AT&T Helmet Man (Day One)

I made a special helmet today to poke some fun at AT&T. Ryan wore it around Nashville this evening and here are the results. I’m actually a satisfied AT&T customer myself, but when I thought of this idea it was too funny to pass up! The map was made with a sheet of Plexiglas hand-painted with the map from Verizon which I printed out in full size and traced before painting. Ryan was wearing a wireless mic under his jacket (to avoid notice) which accounts for the audio scratching. At the mall, I put the camera into a bag and carried it nearby. We couldn’t have the camera too close to the action in the mall because of the wireless receiver which made the camera look just a bit too “pro” to be recording in public places. Photocaching & Maps demo | Ericsson Labs

photocaching is a game designed to play on the go. It is based on the Mobile maps SDK (j2me or Android). The vector based map rendering of this API is rather unique in that it renders the maps in the mobile phone application. Therefore Mobile Maps uses very low bandwidth compared to many other map services and applications that download image tiles. This means faster running applications and lower data costs for your users. Ever played hide and seek when you were a kid? Now you have the chance to enjoy this fun and easy-to-start game in the mobile world. As hider you take pictures from wherever you are and upload them directly to the game for the seekers to find. Challenge your friends and enjoy the feeling of being number one on the high score list.
