Indoor Maps on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Preview
See More Mango Videos Here: bit.ly When we first did our Ultimate Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Preview, we weren’t able to find any indoor maps to show off. Even the Manhattan Mall that we had previously seen demoed wasn’t working. Luckily today we noticed some indoor maps have begun to appear in the Windows Phone Mango Maps application. A few places are actually listed as having indoor maps (such as FAO Schwartz), but when tapping them indoor maps would not appear in Bing Maps. Times Square however, did work! This location isn’t really an indoor location, but it’s great to be able to see all of the stores and how they are laid out right there in Times Square. There’s a little button in the upper left corner that lets you switch between levels if you’re looking at a multi-story indoor location, and there’s also a “Directory” button that shows you all of the stores in the specific location. Hopefully we’ll see more large venue locations show up in Bing Maps with their indoor maps. Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com

this guy’s intro is creepy :O
@des8893 Ooooh. I understand now.
@Konnerific yeah. 7.1 is the technical build number. the marketing name will be 7.5. just like Windows 7 is technically listed as Windows 6.1.7601.
my grandma loves this phone, same era! you must be crazy to buy a windows phone today!! android is miles ahead
Microsoft actually put one of your videos on their blog so i’m sure they’re watching.
I think Bing should work on better turn-by-turn directions as well as alternate routes. Indoor maps is a “cool” extra feature, but not really necessary.
@alcidesfy Hahahaha, watch his eyebrows!!
did you just run up the stairs before you did this???? you sound all out of breath!
the CHEESE on that intro!!
@tremaynenorris companies don’t like to do too much stuff or bring too much stuff in canada. we have a very low population. so therefore not a lot of people even have WP7. So why would they waste their money bringing stuff into canada when not a lot of people will use it. trust me..i wish they brought more of the zune features buh i doubt it:(
@tremaynenorris Gotta agree. I still love WP7 but Canada seems to get the shitty end of the stick.
3d buildings, compass gps as the map is rotating & maps tiles. i do like your videos. keep it up
I always thought it was called Windows phone 7.1.. but okay.
@sirauron14 oh you have no idea the app might crash from the abundance of apps
@tremaynenorris hey dude dont worry I’ve doing some reading and since Nokia and Microsoft partnered there are doing this whole (global reach) thing so every country will be supported dont worry.
@S69NER You should get the HTC HD7s for att if your looking for an upgrade. and nokia has partnered up with microsoft so they’re gonna be making windows phones too.
@tremaynenorris well im in souther california i had the htc hd7 for tmobile love the phone but the service was horrible gps would load alway had drop calls people told me to get att seems to have a bit better service, but im on a budget im a college student trying to find a great deal on a affordable plan, i was loking into getting the nokia phone that has meego on it seems almost the same as windows but idk im not really in a rush but i dont have a unlock palm centro so its time for a upgrade
Great features Windows Phone 7 has to offer. I love it more and more every day.
But here’s a quick question for Microsoft: When the hell is Canada getting these features?
Zune and Bing are SO limited in Canada. We don’t get the Zune Marketplace, we don’t get local search results unless we change our regional settings, and we probably won’t get Local Scout and Vision when the update gets rolled out.
Why can’t you expand your services to the places that have your system?
@bonbongifted
Bing is getting better all the time. I RARELY use Google anymore. I get much more concise results from Bing. Google does what its name implies, it gives you a googol (math term) of results, most of which have no relevance to what I was looking for.
I like bing on my WinPhone.
@S69NER First: The carrier. Everyone likes to say the Focus but if your not on ATT, that’s a mute point.
Second: are you needing to get the phone now? If you can be patient, wait until fall and see what is released then, and be looking for a drool worthy device from Nokia in the fall or Q1 2012. But if you jump now, no biggie, you will get Mango and will work fine. I could not be patient and got my Trophy, if I see drool worthy, the Trophy becomes disposable and I will pay full retail.
This is great, why didnt google come up with this before?
@sirauron14 The exact date hasn’t been set, but I would guess in time for the holiday shopping season.
well, when in fall is this coming out? and i hope with this a lot of new apps will be released
@bonbongifted Which features are you talking about that need updating?
OMG there’s a bug in an unfinished software!
