Google Navigation vs Nokia Ovi Maps - Dogfight! Pt 1
Aaron visited the SF Bay Area, so he and Noah grabbed two GPS-enabled smartphones and hopped in the hybrid for a day of cheesy tourist stuff. What better venue for a Navigation Dogfight between Android’s Google Navigation and Nokia’s Ovi Maps? Forums: forums.phonedog.com Win Free Phones www.phonedog.com More Videos: www.phonedog.com

ovi maps just shit in korea
ovi maps are useless in my country and it wants me to pay $9 for 30 days and $50 for one year.
Can’t really compare them. Ovi is so much better being offline.
oakland? are you BAKED?
Finally found what I searched for :), someone who says that it’s possible to use GPS offline without charges :). thx!
@jitend1234 There will still be data charges for searching, logging into your OVI maps account for synchronization or if you have Network Based ticked under Positioning Methods so best get a data plan. The navigation part is free from NOKIA now otherwise it just wouldn’t work like before.
@jitend1234 ….Yeap!!! not bad …ja!
Seriously, what the hell kind of review is this? Sit down and do a proper review, not this badly filmed badly framed stuff. Clearly most or all of these ‘mobile phone review’ sites do it based on some revenue stream from the companies involved, and watching you guys make it up as you go along is a waste of everybody’s time.
Ovi maps navigation on my nokia n97 work perfectly in UK.
i can’t connect to the satellite. WHY ? i stayed 2 times in the park where there is clear view to the sky and the gps doesnt works ?Should i change something in the options ? I use ”map version 0.1.23.112 ” is it a problem ?If there is a new version could someone to send me a link ?
awesome video!,.. HAHA, Noah got caught speeding
This guys never tried to use Google Navigation. They should press the arrow button to get actual navigation view, instead they look at some point on the road. Very incompetent comparison.
@jitend1234 , not if you download the map, Nokia allow you to download the maps and pr-eload them in your phone, it’s really neat
@jitend1234 yes
i heard the ovi maps are now completely free, does that mean there are no data transmission charges??
does anyone know?
The Ovi maps have spoken speech street nav. If you set it to UK- with street on the settings.
Yea you should have used an N97 or a Nokia 5800 with a larger screen with screen rotation.
Google vs. Gnoccia
Ok Fair enough then, I suppose I’m just sick of Fanboys.
Oh really? I was waiting for that like mental! Please let me know if you managed to do so! Cheers!
I thought it was out already? You have to use Nokia’s Map Updater software to change it I believe. I just have yet to get around to doing it.
um duhh. i like the google phone better. i love android and what it can do. thats what i said before but you just took it the wrong way.
boo, Prius.
but yay for the video tour of cali
Awesome video! I’ve also been to San Francisco and Sausalito, as well as LA, just last year during my spring break! I just think that California is one of the best states that I’ve ever been to! I might consider it as a place I want to live (if I can afford it), when I start to live on my own in the real world. Man, I wish I had your guy’s job!
how doesn anyone stand Nokia phones there so ugly
