CoPilot Live 8 Review - for Google Android Mobile Phones

When you think of how much a TomTom or similar satellite navigation system can cost you, CoPilot Live 8 represents a bit of a bargain. Check out this review of the Google Android Mobile Phone version. Check out more great reviews on my YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com or the main website www.geekanoids.co.uk

I installed the Co-Pilot app on my G1, but the maps wouldn’t download correctly. 3 download attempts over WiFi all resulted in a long wait while the app downloaded tons of data. After all that, it just a gave an error and quit each time. I bought an 8 GB SD card just to install the maps. I also installed Co-Pilot Central and tried downloading with my PC, but I got the same result. I contacted tech support by email, but they didn’t even reply. Terrible service and non-functional software.

It’s much slower on my T-mobile G1 than what is shown here. It can sometimes take as much as 20 seconds for it to respond to button presses. Live Traffic is also not available in the U.S. Live Fuel prices advertised on their website also not available in US. There is also a street I drive on that’s name changed about 5 years ago that is still wrong on CoPilot’s maps. Software has a very nice interface, it just needs to be more responsive….and so does their support.

Yes, I wonder too, now you mention it. Just a random address near where I grew up.

Thinks its lame that you have to type city/post code first.
It should be street and then it should suggest cities with that street adress..
Less typing - more happy :D

Would the interface be any different on the iphone 3GS? Seems like a bargain compared to the tomtom app.
