Oh please, can you post it? I can’t install Garmin XT on my 5800 i just bought it yesterday.

I have just figured out how to get garmin xt to work with the us version of nokia 5800! someone sent me a file called virtualkey.sis and custom2.keymap and I installed it on my memory card and did a few other things and you actually have to hold the phone to the side and use the green and red button to navigate if someone is really interested i’ll post what all I did.
Are you sure you have version 5.00.40.
I have heard that there are problems with the North american version of the phone.
how did you get it to work with your phone? I have the neweest version of garmin and nokia 5800 and the bottom buttons don’t work can someone please help?
do you have to pay for the gps? or do you need to be online with wifi to use it?
This is basically a Garmin GpS software.
You pay for the software and you most often pay for the map (europe, usa, canada) and such.
The voice and turn by turn navigation is all included and there are never subscriptions.
You could use the included nokia Maps with the gps system in the phone.
did u pay extra $ for use GPS system? only location no voice assistance.
What does the application cost?
The voice is simply part of the Garmin Mobile XT software.
I believe you can download different voices on the Garmin website but Im not sure.

The 3g or edge lock on is better to get a quick lock on.
You dont need it but the gps lock on time could increase from a few seconds to a minute or two.
So, it uses the 3g network?? Is it necessary to got the actual position? It can’t be used without 3g or wifi?? Please, can somebody help me? Im about to buy it, but I’ve this doubt…

It uses assisted gps (mast assistance) but it also works without mast assistance. It only uses like 10 kb to get a quicker location fix.
I have used it with no sim card and the lock on time was longer, but when the position was found everything worked great.
does the nokia 5800 use total GPS or does it use mobile mast assistance?
i hate mobile mast assistance as my network charges for this.

I dont know where you can download the original software legally from the internet, but the updates are all online at Garmin.

You can buy a pre-loaded SD card with the software from Garmin directly, and then install the update to make it work with the 5800

I am using a Garmin XT SD card with the 5.00.30 update. With ths update you can use Garmin Xt on the 5800 without usung Virtual Key or any other additional application.
